Who we support

Our supported accommodation is for looked-after children and care leavers aged 16 and 17 referred by placing authorities. Placements for young people aged 18 and over may be considered with the request and continued involvement of the placing authority.

Our Newcastle home has space for up to three young people. A placement is subject to assessment and agreement; an enquiry does not reserve a place.

How a referral works

  1. Initial discussion. Contact the team to discuss the service and outline the placement need without sending confidential case records.
  2. Referral information. We agree a secure route for the referral form, pathway plan, current risk assessments and an EHC plan where applicable.
  3. Suitability and matching. We consider the care-versus-support assessment, the young person’s readiness, risks, needs and compatibility with existing residents.
  4. Introductions. Where possible, we meet the young person and their social worker, arrange a visit and discuss preferences.
  5. Placement planning. We agree the support package, staffing arrangements, fees, funding responsibilities and practical steps for move-in before a placement proceeds.

Urgent placement enquiries

Emergency placements may be considered when the relevant documentation is available and suitability can be assessed. Please call to discuss the circumstances. Acceptance is not automatic.
