Our purpose in practice

The future we work towards
A future where young people feel valued, have a voice in their lives and can access the opportunities they need to become confident, independent adults connected to their communities.
Belonging today. Possibility tomorrow.
What guides us
Every young person deserves to feel safe, respected and valued, with the opportunity to build a future shaped by their own goals.
We put this belief into practice through individual support that recognises the whole person: their experiences, strengths, identity and aspirations. Our approach is trauma-informed and strengths-based, building trusting relationships and supporting emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing.
Young people have a voice in their support and in how our service develops. We listen to their feedback, involve them in decisions and work alongside placing authorities, social workers and other professionals to turn shared plans into practical steps towards independence.
A home where young people feel secure and can build dependable relationships.
Young people involved in the decisions that affect their lives and support.
Achievable goals, practical skills and encouragement to look ahead.

The Bridging Gap was founded on the importance of family, belonging and a supportive home. That belief continues to shape our work: listening, building trusting relationships and creating opportunities for young people to grow.
We provide supported accommodation through The Bridging Gap Services Ltd. Our approach is person-centred, trauma-informed and grounded in the strengths and experiences of each young person.
We work alongside young people, social workers, families where appropriate, education providers and health professionals. Each has a part to play in planning support and preparing for the next stage of life.
Young people’s feedback informs the service. We review support plans, track progress and use supervision, audits and management oversight to identify what is working and what needs to change.
Our Statement of Purpose describes quality monitoring, including a six-monthly Quality of Support Report. Relevant information is available to placing authorities on request.
