The Bridging Gap was founded by Olubunmi Ogundare, inspired by a life rooted in love, support, and a deep commitment to helping others. Growing up in a household of six children, where only two were his blood siblings and the rest were adopted, Olubunmi learned the values of love and support from an early age. This unique family dynamic instilled in him a profound sense of compassion and the importance of providing a nurturing environment for everyone.
With five years of experience working in the NHS as both agency and permanent staff, Olubunmi found immense satisfaction in being part of a team that helped patients return home. His ability to bond easily with young people, coupled with his experience working in Young People’s wards, made him realize his passion for helping them become independent and reunite with their families. Witnessing the positive impact of his support on young people’s lives was both rewarding and motivating.
Two years ago, Olubunmi ventured into the IT field. However, he soon discovered that his true passion lay in helping young people. The drive to positively impact their lives and support them in gaining independence outweighed his interest in technology. This realization led him to refocus on his true calling.
Olubunmi shares this passion and vision with his wife, Helen Ogundare, who also has extensive experience working with young people and currently works with the NHS. Together, they are dedicated to creating a supportive and loving environment for young people, helping them gain the skills and confidence needed to transition to independent living. As a family that deeply cares for and loves others, Olubunmi and Helen are committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people through The Bridging Gap.
